Deciding

The decisions we make daily, quietly shape our reality. Some times we make big loud decisions to make change, but we also every moment make decisions/choices that create our future. A lot of those are based on past familiar patterns and feelings and we make them automatically. Then, we get to a point where we think this no longer fits my life, I can’t do this anymore, I don’t want to live or feel this way, this doesn’t feel right for me etc. So we make a decision that this isn’t it, usually when there’s enough pain or discomfort to make you take some action. Then you start to make new choices, because you have decided that you need to get away from what ever it was you were experiencing (insert negative emotion).

Here’s something new, you don’t have to wait for the pain. Some people say you’ve got to hit rock bottom and yea sometimes maybe people do. But you actually don’t need to, you can look at your life and how you feel and decide to do something different if there’s things you’re not happy with. You need to know what you don’t want (which most of us do) but hen you need to find out what it is you actually DO want and then start to create a compelling future vision for yourself, of yourself and the things you want.

The greatest part of it all is you get to decide everything for yourself. You can decide who you are how you feel and how you act and how you behave, you get to decide who you get to be, no one else. Take back your power, take ownership and lead yourself and your life into something amazing fro yourself, because you can, because you get to decide that for you!

Somethings I have decided in the past that gave me something I wanted. In my early 20’s I felt something not really sure what it was but it was about my body weight and I remember being sat in a pub at the end of a shift eating pizza and having half a cider. I thought to myself I don’t want to do this, I made a decision internally right there that this would be my last slice of pizza and this would be the last time I eat after 8pm and I wasn’t going to drink anything at all if I was driving home after work. The next day I woke up and did exactly that, I started my day with a cup of tea and some red bull and a few fags. I drank tea all day and ate about 3/4pm chicken potato and mayo, sometimes a burger or a steak. then that was it nothing else, other than tea and if we were going out then lots of wine. It felt good and I committed to it and that is how I lived for about 3 years, I lost a tone of weight I was about 7 1/2- 8 stone I feel great! lol abvoisuly that’s not how I live now.

In my late 20’s on a night out I looked at my mate gurning and out of it and vulnerable, I thought fuck, do I look like that? I don’t want to look like that and made a decision I didn’t want that and in that moment decided I’d never take drugs ever again and I haven’t and know I never will because I don’t want to, that’s not who I am anymore.

At 30 I felt like shit, I wanted to quit smoking because I was feeling awful. I was gong to quit on my birthday I decided, I came across an audio book, the easy way. I was intrigued how it was going to work so I listened to it over 4 /5 days so curious how it would lead to quitting and before my birthday at the end of that book id quit, because the book is repetition and reprogramming new beliefs about smoking and then gives you the CHOICE to DECIDE when to have your last one. I’ve never looked back, know I never will smoke again. It is not who I am anymore.

Nearly 3 years ago, I made a decision and a commitment to myself that I would start training a minimum of 2 times a week regardless and that would never stop again because i’ve always dipped in and out of it and its always hard to start again. So I made that decision for myself. I started at hime with some weights then after 4 weeks 2 sessions became 3. That was my new minimum commitment to myself. Eventually nearly a year later I joined a CrossFit gym. My commitment stayed at 3 sessions a week that might be a mix between home and the gym life dependant. I fell in love with crossfit, its changed my life. My minimum sessions a week is now 4, again between home and the gym but I really like to try and make at least 3 in the gym and 4 if I can. I know now that even if I end up somewhere else that this is just who I am now and i’ll never stop training, it feels SO fucking good and adds so much to my life.

So what are you deciding? What do you want to change for youself? who do you want to be? How do you want to live? How do you want to feel? Go find out and if you need some guidance, hit me up for some life coaching!!

Lots of Love
